Welcome!
The bride and groom can't believe that November 14th has come and gone so quickly! Tyson & Brittany chose to have a low-key, vintage glamour themed wedding with a rustic edge, thanks in part to the unique venue. Myspayce, located in Downtown Pensacola is a one-of-a-kind 11,000 square foot warehouse that's over 100 years old. It's brick walls, concrete floors and open rafters lent itself wonderfully to the crisp, cool air of the November night. The evening was topped off by stellar food, scrumptious cake and an out-of-this-world band! Over 200 guests were in attendance and the event went off without a hitch. It was truly the perfect night! Tyson & Brittany would like to personally thank each and every guest and attendant. Be sure to check out the updates around the website, such as updated Wedding Party photos, new blog posts, new additions to the Photo Album and a collection of the evening's best photos on the Post-Wedding page.
It all started when.......
Ty & Britt first met in late January of 2003. Brittany was working the front desk at the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office and Tyson was a deputy there at the time. He loved to come into the front office and tease her, usually making her angry with him! On February 15, 2003, he asked her to come to dinner with him to make up for it. Reluctantly, Brittany agreed, even though it was her 19th birthday. They went to Tokyo's, a hibachi grill in Pensacola and had a great time. They talked on the way back to Brittany's house about all kinds of things and realized that they had similar goals for the future. Over time, it was clear that their personality traits complimented each other; sometimes they were identical and sometimes they were complete opposites. Meantime, Ty was consistently trying to better himself and his career, opting to apply for law enforcement positions with the state instead of remaining at the county level.
The Proposal!
In August of 2005, he got a call from the Department of Environmental Protection to report to Tallahassee for a job interview with their Department of Law Enforcement. All went well, and they requested that he report to Monroe County, Florida in November 2005. A lot of speculation was made about whether or not a long-distance relationship would ensue; Brittany was hoping to tag along and Ty couldn't imagine leaving her. One night in November, about a week before he had to leave for training in Tallahassee, the couple had plans to meet Brittany's mom and Donnie for dinner at Tuscan Oven. He proposed to her on one knee with the most beautiful ring she'd ever seen and asked that she pack up and move with him. Naturally, she said yes! Embarking on their first great adventure, they moved to Key Largo, Florida in November of 2005.
We're not in Kansas anymore Toto...
The U-Haul was packed tight and
the deposits had been paid on a beautiful waterfront apartment in Key
Largo...all that was left was to say goodbye to all of their friends and
family. It was sad and exciting all at once! After the initial culture
shock was over, they spent a lot of time fishing, snorkeling, diving,
boating, wakeboarding and shopping! The Florida Keys are a beautiful
place, but they felt that if they were ever going to buy a home and get
closer to family, they would have to leave the island. In February 2007,
a lateral transfer was approved by the state and they moved to North Port,
Florida. This is where Ty obtained his private pilot's license and
Brittany graduated from college. In September 2009, Tyson received a
wonderful honor in the form of a perfect promotion: he is now a Special
Agent with the Criminal Investigations Bureau of DEP in Tampa, Florida.
The couple continue to live happily in Tampa and are excited that they
have finally found their home!
